HOW IT WORKS

Learn, Build, Code, Play!

Step 1 - LEARN

RoboFUN are scientific workshops for children during which they can learn about the surrounding world and principles upon which it operates. Since the most efficient way to learn is to learn through play, in the course of our workshops children build and program robot modelswith their own hands. They work in pairs and every pair uses a laptop connected to a dedicated e-learning platform.

Every lesson begins with the short introduction during which the teacher explains the inspiration behind the robot about to be built. For example, when building the space shuttle, children learn how space shuttles are built, how they work and what they are used for. For this part of exercise we use a projector.

Step 2 - BUILD

After the introduction comes the robot-building part of the workshop. The teacher can share instructions with students through e-learning platform. The children log in to their respective accounts to gain access to the detailed walkthrough of the building process. Thanks to individual e-learning accounts each pair of children can work at it’s own pace. The teacher’s task is to make sure the robots are being built according to instructions provided and lend assistance where and when needed.

When all teams have finished building their robots the teacher explains how the models are going to work. Thanks to the cross sections and drawings of the robots available on laptop screens it is easy to explain how different parts of the robots work together.

Step 3 - CODE

When all the robots are properly assembled it is time to program them. Once again, detailed and easy-to-understand instructions can be found on the laptop. The teacher explains step by step how to program a robot so that all children understand exactly how the program, and programming principles in general, work. In this part we also use a projector to show our students everything they need to know.

Step 4 - PLAY

The most important part of the workshops is play time where all students can see their robot at work and are encouraged to experiment with it.
